Our Journey

The origins of Dovera Capital can be traced back to the 2003 with Nigel co-founding the first online business planning business in Australia. 

Over 95% of clients were seeking professional documentation for the objective of raising capital.  For the next 16 years Nigel worked with thousands of businesses in their capital raising endeavours and producing business plans, proposals, information memorandums and other similar capital raising documents. The services expanded to bringing in financial, legal and structuring experts to contribute to the larger projects.

In 2017, the business started working with a Litigation Funder out of the US.  The initial contract was for documentation services, however within two years the number and range of services provided to the client grew to the point where it warranted a new entity to be formed.

Dovera Capital Pty Ltd was established in 2019 providing a range of services including general administration services, sourcing and assessing various funding channels across three continents, liaising with Fund Managers and project manage the establishment dedicated Fund vehicles for the clients.  It also moved into the overseeing and growing of distribution channels, and acting as a liaison between the distribution client the Fund Manager and the client.

Around this time Dovera took on the development of a muti-faceted investor portal which contained an automated online application system, investor dashboard, secure communication system, document storage, virtual data-room, automated transaction / investment documentation generation, calculation and generation of interest and statements, transaction tracking module and numerous other features.

In 2022, Dovera was contracted to source and establish a suitable transaction vehicle for a large acquisition transaction, and to form a Project Team to enable the transaction.  This required building a team including Fund Manager, and legal teams across two jurisdictions and various financial professionals. 

Dovera has since worked on forming and managing a number of such projects teams.

There are two main assets that we have acquired throughout our journey.

1.        Our wide scope of services meant that we worked with, or provided services to, both the Originator and the investor-side, while delivering our projects.  This has provided a broader perspective and deeper understanding of what is important to both parties and what is required to create a conducive environment for business to occur.

2.        We have also built a valuable network of professionals in all facets of the finance / capital raising / legal sphere. 

These two assets form the basis of the services Dovera provides today.
